Tattoo aftercare

A clean heal = a beautiful tattoo. Follow this simple guide. If anything feels off, reply to your booking email or message me on Instagram. I am here to help.

1) Right after your session:

A) If we applied second-skin:

• Keep the film for 12–24h (a little fluid under the film is normal).

• To remove: peel slowly under warm running water. Wash with lukewarm water + gentle, fragrance-free soap. Pat dry with clean paper towel.

• You may apply a fresh film (if I advised) and keep 2–3 days. Do not exceed 5–7 days total. If it leaks/lifts → remove and switch to “Classic care”.

B) If we used classic wrap:

• Remove after 3–4h. Wash as above, pat dry, then apply a very thin layer of aftercare.

• Re-apply a rice-thin layer 2–3×/day for 7–10 days. Do not smother the skin.

C) If we used an absorbent pad (tattoo pad / non-adherent ABD pad)

• Keep the pad on for 3–6 hours (or as advised). If it feels full or leaking, change it sooner.

• To change: peel the pad slowly , then wash the area with lukewarm water + gentle fragrance-free soap. Pat dry with clean paper towel.

• Apply a very thin layer of aftercare and cover with a fresh, sterile non-adherent absorbent pad. Secure lightly with hypoallergenic tape.

Overnight: you may keep a fresh pad for Night 1 (and Night 2 for larger shaded/cover-up pieces). In the morning remove, wash, pat dry, and either:

• continue with a thin layer 2–3×/day (“classic care”), or

• if it still weeps, use one more fresh pad during the day.

Avoid: cling film for long periods (traps moisture), cotton wool/fluffy towels, thick greasy coats of ointment.

Good products: gentle, fragrance-free wash; light tattoo aftercare or panthenol-based moisturiser.

Avoid: thick petrolatum coats, fragranced lotions, alcohol/peroxide.

2) Days 1–14 — daily routine

• Short lukewarm showers only; keep the area clean and dry between.

No picking/scratching. Flaking & itch are normal on days 3–10.

Loose, dark clothing; fresh bedsheets on night 1.

Gym/sweat: avoid heavy sweat and contamination for 48–72h (longer for large pieces).

Water: no pools/sea/hot tubs/sauna during the first 2 weeks.

3) Sun & tanning

No sun or sunbeds during healing. After it heals, protect with SPF 50 whenever exposed.

4) What’s normal vs when to contact

Normal: mild redness/warmth (24–48h), light oozing day 0–1, peeling/itch days 3–10.

Contact me if redness/swelling/rash increases or anything worries you — reply to your booking email.

5) Touch-up policy

One free mini touch-up within 90 days if needed (after proper aftercare). Ask with a clear daylight photo.
